An Easy Gardening Project To Do With Your Children
Here is a short tip to take advantage of: Kids can grow potatoes in a plastic garbage bag. Fill the plastic bag halfway with a combination of compost and gardening soil. Make small holes in the bag for water drainage near the bottom. In the dirt plant some seed potatoes that have sprouts, making sure they are covered by the soil about 2 inches down. Water well and continue to water as needed. As the sprouts appear above the soil line add more soil. Harvest new potatoes as they mature. An indication that the potatoes are mature is the green vegetation will start to turn yellow and die back.
